Last week we left off in the middle of a cocktail party, how dare you Chris Harrison? Ben had pulled Olivia aside because even though she says she’s fine, all the girls have been victimized by her-Ben decides he can’t quite ignore that. Olivia explains that she’s an introvert (yeah, okay) and she likes to talk smart things? No that is not my sarcastic interpretation, those were her exact words. She then explains that getting the first impression rose put a target on her back. Ben buys it and Olivia keeps her rose. Which means we say goodbye to Jen, a shock to no one. And we are in that odd point where only one girl goes home each rose ceremony but he isn’t close enough to them to give them a goodbye speech. Bye Jen, we never knew you.
But more importantly, the gang is traveling to the Bahamas. Becca is shocked that the water is blue and the sand is white so no, she isn’t color blind. Chris announces that there will be a one-on-one, group date, and a two-on-one date. He leaves the date card and cryptically tells the girls that he hopes to see “most” of them at the rose ceremony. Calia is chosen for the one-on-one and Leah is pissed.
Who is Leah? The blonde Jen aka girl no one knows. Leah is upset because she hadn’t ha a one-on-one yet and this is the second one for Calia. Doesn’t Ben know that it’s her turn? Ben picks up Calia and they head out for a day of deep sea fishing (yippee). In an interview Ben justifies picking Calia for the one-on-one because Kevin Hart and Ice Cube crashed his last date with her.
Back at the house Leah is crying because she feels like a group date “groupie”. And she lives 10 minutes from Ben, so they could’ve met in a bar? Ok-this matters why? Leah is on the group date card along with Lauren B, Becca, Lauren H, JoJo, and Amanda. That leaves Emily and Olivia for the two-on-one.
After fishing, Ben questions Calia’s depth because she smiles a lot. He wants her to be able to cry. Calia doesn’t like to be put on the spot and tells Ben that’s she’s scared she will hurt him. Just when Ben thinks it’s the end, Calia says she’s falling in love with him and explains her feelings in the most confusing way possible. Ben digs it though because a good Bachelor always likes a hard to get girl (there is so much evidence in Bachelor history) and Calia (aka last brunette standing) gets a rose.
Ben wants his group date to be fun and relaxing, which means it will be the date from hell. He takes the ladies on a boat and surprise they go to an island with swimming pigs. Oh yes. I can’t make this up. The girls are given chicken hot dogs to feed the pigs, Ben demonstrates how to get the pigs to go away from them but no one pays attention and all the girls get attacked. Now this is quality television. I bet Chris Soules is so pissed he didn’t get this date for his season.
Ben swims off with Lauren B and all the other girls grow uncomfortable with their chemistry. Ben picks up the vibe that all the girls hate him and tries to get the 411 from JoJo. She tells him that it’s awkward but Ben is quite defensive and says the signed up for it. He then tries Leah, bad move. What starts with “do you like pigs?” Ends with Leah confronting him about not getting the one-on-one. Ben tells her to enjoy their time together now, as he swims away.
That night, he decides to tell all the girls how special they are to win the girls back. Leah realizes she needs to do something drastic to stay in the race, so she tries to trash talk another girl to Ben. Who? Lauren B, who is sweet but obviously in the lead. Lauren B actually interrupts their convo and Ben tells her that someone says she is different around the house. Lauren gets upset and tells the girls, they are shocked someone would say that. Leah says it wasn’t her, she’s a horrible liar. Amanda gets the rose, she’s the only girl who didn’t confuse Ben.
Back at the house Lauren B is figuring out that Leah is the one who talked about her to Ben. Leah has decided that she hasn’t sunk herself enough so she sneaks over to Ben to dog Lauren B even more. Ben sends Leah home, because let’s be honest, he still isn’t sure what her name is and she’s annoying him.
And it’s two-on-one time! Olivia vs. twin 2 aka Emily. Before the date Emily calls twin 1 to gloat about being in the Bahamas and tell her about the impending two-on-one. In the limo the girls face opposite directions to play up the drama. They are going to sail to an island, while a hurricane seems to be coming through. Olivia of course talks to Ben first and says she loves him, and she’s so excited about how it went. Emily talks about how happy she is to be there and blah blah. Honestly I don’t listen to anything she says.
In a huge shock Ben leaves Olivia on the island because he doesn’t love her. Watching her being left on an island during a hurricane was pretty sweet. But that also means twin 1 lives on.
JoJo and Lauren B really want to talk to Ben at the cocktail party but of course he calls it off because these girls have been confusing the hell out of him. But both JoJo and Lauren B are given roses, it’s Lauren H who hits the road. Yay, Lauren B can now just be Lauren. I know what an honor that is!
Until next week!
